With a group of award-winning companies under one umbrella, and staff dispersed across commercial sites around the world, Cognition Education used LiveTiles to build a digital workplace that has brought such a diverse business’ resources, applications and people together on a single screen.
Cognition connected with LiveTiles
With an old intranet that was outdated and difficult to manage, Cognition Education’s people across the world simply stopped using it.
I would describe it as files and folders. And folders and folders and folders,” explained Andy Simpson, Head of Digital Technology and Transformation.
“It became obsolete. People were starting to use their own share drives instead of the intranet. That’s a result of lack of engagement and poor design.”
On a mission to consolidate and refresh their intranet, Cognition Education used LiveTiles to build a custom branded mobile-friendly digital workplace over SharePoint that has united its people on a single screen.
Using ‘drag and drop’ no-code features over SharePoint, Andy has maximized Cognition Education’s investment in Office 365 by integrating business applications and increasing staff efficiency.
“LiveTiles has been the strategy to bring everyone together in the one place,” Andy said.
“We wanted to make sure this is a site that truly reaches across all the brands. And what you’ve given us is a product that allows us to build something that works for us.”
With LiveTiles, Cognition Education has a flexible and engaging intranet that is helping them make of the most of their Office365 investment.
“You’ve really got a product that’s superior to anything I’ve seen,” Andy said.
“In a couple of seconds, I’ve got the ability to change the whole feel of the page. Without having to worry about design, layout or integration. It’s just brilliant.”
Using LiveTiles’ library of ‘drag and drop’ tools, Cognition Education are building pages over SharePoint with ease and a central location for resources, company news and updates.
“I am not a SharePoint developer, but it’s so intuitive that you can work it out yourself and build a leading-edge product that’s a million times better than SharePoint,” Andy said.
“In two hours I’d built a portal for our contractors with LiveTiles, which integrated a newsfeed, Yammer and all links to the information they use on a single page.”
“That’s the value of LiveTiles. You build your pages, for your own company and then as many team sites as you need. You can integrate what you need and display them in a way that’s engaging for the end user.”
